WHEELS FOR WELLNESS OFFICIAL RULES

PARTICIPATION

In order to participate in Wheels for Wellness ("rally") each driver must have a valid driver's licence, insurance as specified below and possess all ownership and legal documentation for the vehicle entered. If the participant does not own the vehicle, they must supply written documentation from the owner of the property showing authorization to drive and/or have possession of the property.

In order to participate, each driver and team member(s) must have signed the rally's official waiver.

Prior to departure from the show and shine, teams will be provided with a set of instructions to navigate the various checkpoints required to complete the rally. These instructions must be followed in order to safely participate in and complete the rally.

In order to effectively promote the event and its participating sponsors, Wheels for Wellness and sponsor logo decals will be applied to all participating rally vehicles prior to departure. This material will NOT harm your vehicle’s paint or carbon fiber.

OBEY THE LAW

All participating rally drivers must obey the posted maximum speed limit on all routes and drive at a safe speed appropriate for road and weather conditions – no exceptions.

INSURANCE

Each participating rally vehicle and driver must be covered by an active insurance policy on rally day. This policy must provide public liability, personal injury and property damage insurance to the minimum amounts required by the Province of Alberta.

VEHICLE CRITERIA

  1. Headlights (high & low beams)
  2. Taillights & stop (brake) lights
  3. Horn, windshield wiper & directional signals
  4. Rear-view mirror

  6. Tires (sidewalls as well as tread)
  7. Fully functional seat belts for all persons in the vehicle

Wheels for Wellness rally officials have the right to refuse entry to any person and/or vehicle that they deem incapable of navigating the course safely, and are therefore a potential risk to public safety. The committee will give the entrant immediate notification, along with the option of securing a suitable vehicle.

DISQUALIFICATION

Competitors judged by the rally officials to be guilty of any of the following offenses will be automatically disqualified:

  1. Driving while intoxicated
  2. Consuming alcoholic beverages before or while participating
  3. Dangerous or reckless driving. The rally is NOT a race. Any moving violation citation or written warning received by a participant, or any excessive speed or unsafe driving observed by rally officials, is grounds for disqualification
  4. In-motion traffic violations
  5. Being at fault in an accident
  6. Any and all deliberate infractions pertaining to the written rally instructions
  7. Unsportsmanlike conduct

SCORING

Each team will be given an official score for each completed checkpoint. Only rally officials can correct an error. There is a zero-tolerance policy on any alterations of information. Alterations are subject to disqualification.

IN THE EVENT OF A TIE

After scoring is complete, in the event of a tie, the team with the highest overall fundraising will be selected as the overall winner. All rally official decisions are final.

CHECKPOINTS

All rally checkpoints, including the after-party, will be indicated by signage. All participants entering a checkpoint location voluntarily assume all risks and dangers incidental to any of those locations. Each checkpoint location has its own set of rules and code of conduct, and each participant is required to abide by those rules.
